A Few Words About Paul

My calling in life is to equip and empower ordinary Christians to live out their faith as ministers and ambassadors of God in all spheres of life, including the workplace.

After graduating from university, I found myself in a dilemma. I wanted to pursue careers in business consulting and public policy, but because I believed those options were secular, I went to seminary to become a pastor.

Ironically, it was through theological education that I discovered God calls everyone to be his ministers and ambassadors in all of his creation. My goal through this blog is to equip you to be God's ambassador wherever you are and whatever God has called you to do.

I am happily married to Esther and live in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Currently, I serve at uVillage Church as a Marketplace Pastor.

I earned my B.A. in Political Science and Economics from the University of Washington in Seattle, my M.Div. with a specialization in Biblical languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and my ThM. with a specialization in Marketplace Theology from Regent College. Additionally, I completed accounting and business education through the UBC Sauder School of Business and CPA Canada. As a designated Chartered Professional Accountant of Canada, I currently work as the CFO at Calixtone Capital Inc.

Vancouver, BC

The purpose at More Than A Roof is to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness in the lives of our tenants through transformative affordable housing.

As an accounting supervisor, I enhanced the organization's accounting system and internal controls. This provided stability and reporting capacity, allowing the organization to capture meaningful financial information in real-time, such as budget versus actuals and KPIs. These improvements helped the organization set strategic priorities for the next five years and prepare for growth.

I contributed to the organization's growth projects by preparing financial models for potential real estate projects. My suggestions were instrumental in helping the chief executives make important strategic decisions for the organization.
